The proposed technical solution relates to an illumination unit for optical appliances, the unit being arranged in or on a microscope stand and permitting the existing lighting means to be easily exchanged. In the illumination unit for optical appliances, in particular microscopes, the mount (1) with the lighting means (2) is arranged on a drawer-like rack (3) which can be inserted into a separate housing (4) or into the basic housing of the optical appliance, so that when the rack is inserted the lighting means is aligned with the optical axis. The rack has electric connections with a separate power supply or with the power supply of the optical appliance and has elements for switching, controlling and/or adjusting the lighting means. The illumination unit makes it possible to exchange defective lighting means quickly and without problems, and it also makes it possible to modify illumination conditions by simply exchanging the entire rack and replacing it by racks fitted with different lighting means and/or different optical components. |
