    A single letter separating mechanism for the postage machine is composed of an electric motor, a cyclic delivering unit consisting of drive roller, driven roller and separating belt, an elastic separating plate above said separating belt and consisting of a front arc segment linked to machine frame and a horizontal segment for forming a letter separating channel between it and said separating belt, a radian regulator for said front arc segment, and a height regulator for said horizontal segment.
