    A portable electronic device with hard disk includes a hard disk whose magnetic head is capable of automatically returning back to safety area at power shut off, a hard disk controller and communication port for data exchange, a sensor to monitor hard disk status at running and send the signal to sensor process unit for analyze, the process unit according to the analysis result then judge whether to send shut off indication to hard disk power switch for power control.
