There is provided a method for managing a signaling state along an old data route for rapidly re-establishing the signaling state. Instead of removing the signaling state along the old data route explicitly or when the time has expired, the signaling state along the old data route is preserved by mitigated state management. In the case of mitigated state management, a network resource held by the state along the old data route is released and the least information is held. When the old route can be used again, the state can rapidly be restored and the network resource can be reallocated. |
