    A mobile telephone having a broadcast reception function includes: a television broadcast reception unit (111) for receiving a broadcast program; a video processing unit (104) for outputting the received broadcast program; a radio unit (102) for receiving mail arrival information; and a control unit (115) for monitoring whether a predetermined condition for reporting the mail arrival information during a broadcast program output is satisfied. If the predetermined condition is satisfied when the mail arrival information is received during the broadcast program output, the arrival information is reported at this moment. If the predetermined condition is not satisfied when the mail arrival information is received, the arrival information is not reported and when the predetermined condition is satisfied later, the arrival information is reported.
