    The present invention relates to a method and a paper collector or a paper feeder(14)for a machine(18)processing printing materials. The paper collector or the paper feeder has a device for combining auxiliary stacks(4)and main stacks(3), a rake(10)that can be moved in and out between the main and auxiliary stacks by a motor drive(12), and a control computer(19)controlling the driving device of the rake(10). The present invention is characterized in that the control computer(19)stores velocity profiles which are different according to the driving device for the rake(10)of the printing material(20)in the stacks(3, 4).
