Provided is a low-profile elevator governor having a compact shape for actualizing a variety of whole arrangement layouts even in a limited space of a machine-room-less elevator or the like. A governor rope 6 is wrapped around the elevator governor 30. The elevator governor 30 comprises a base 1 having a pair of opposed side plates 1a, a rotating shaft 3 provided extending between the pair of side plates 1a of the base 1 and rotatablely supported on the side plates 1a via bearing parts 40, a governor sheave 2 fixed to the rotating shaft 3 for rotation following the operation of the governor rope 6 wound thereon, and fly weights 8a, 8b provided on one side face of the governor sheave 2 and mounted with operating pawls 13. The bearing parts 40 are arranged inside the pair of side plates 1a. On the outer periphery of one bearing part 40, a ratchet part 12 is provided rotatable relative to the bearing part 40 and engageable with the operating pawls 13 of the fly weights 8a, 8b. |
