性质：白色针状结晶。易溶于水，几乎不溶于醇，水溶液呈红蓝色荧光。

制备方法：由β-萘胺经磺化而得。磺化反应在50-60℃下进行，生成2-萘胺-5-磺酸和2-萘胺-8-磺酸的混合物，用水稀释后加氢氧化钠溶液调至pH为9，过滤蒸发得到钠盐。然后用乙醇提取分离，将提取液蒸干得2-萘胺-5-磺酸钠盐，然后经水解、酸化即得成品。

用途：用作染料中间体。
